Our Agility Beagles

Copper (DOB 12/13/08) (Buddy X Danielle) and Carol are making fast progress through the agility classes. She is impressed by his thinking ability and response time. She used shaping behavior called puppy peaks by Susan Garett when he was very young. They are working toward qualifying for the AKC National Agility Trials in Oklahoma in 2013. He is a half brother to Becky and Bob, Margie's obedience and tracking beagles.

Copper will be competing at the Agility National in Reno, NV in 2018

Carol noticed Traveler, Silver Ridge CA Traveler, jumping up on the glass sliding door at our house and thought he would make a good agility dog. She was right. In 2010 he was invited to Eukanuba Championship Show in Long Beach. He ended the weekend ranked as 4th Hound. At age 12. Traveler is now a Master Agility Champion (MACH 3)and still competing on a limited basis. He also competed at the 2012 National Agility Trial.

"Bunny"     Silver Ridge Oops A Double Double

Several years ago, we had retired a dog that had been shown in conformation classes. Carol Waitman's son wanted a pet beagle, but it bonded with Carol and she wanted to do agility. Bunny (Silver Ridge Oops A Double Double) was the first dog to be trained by Carol. It was a learning experience for both the dog and the owner. They did quite well until the dog suffered a back injury and was retired. There are a lot of injuries associated with agility, in both people and dogs. She crossed over the Rainbow Bridge in July 2012.
