Pack Includes Show and Field Beagles

After I was disabled in a car crash, I went to a brace field trial and was hooked by the slow speed, the body movement, and the wag of the tail. These are all inherited behaviors. I thought I could do field trialing.

I bought 2 brace beagle puppies. One did not put her head down and was not interested in tracking. Hooter went to a pet home. The 2nd puppy was Flash (Annie's Lucky Lightning) and she loved the rabbit and had a very accurate nose, but moved at a very fast walk. Many of the judges like a very, very slow deliberate tracker.

Buddy and Flash produced 2 dogs with excellent noses. Both (Katie and Becky), were trained in tracking by Margie Horton, their owner. Becky (Buddy's Beck 'N Call Girl TDX, CD, RA) has excelled in tracking. It is very hard to breed a good nose. In Flash's 2nd litter there was only one puppy with an excellent nose. She was the only puppy among five that tracked her way to the nipple to drink right after she was born. That puppy is Becky.

speckles frt

All field beagles are not interested in tracking rabbits, no matter how hard you train them, some are more interested in tennis balls, lizards, or toys. Speckles is one of those dogs that loves tennis balls above everything else.

Speckles is a blue tick/red tick colored brace field beagle
